Former President Donald Trump has chosen Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate in the 2024 presidential election. The announcement was made on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Vance, a conservative Republican, has been a vocal supporter of Trump since the early days of his 2016 presidential campaign. He is a former Marine and a graduate of Yale Law School. He was elected to the Senate in 2022.
Trump's decision to select Vance as his running mate comes as no surprise. Vance has been a loyal supporter of Trump and has repeatedly praised the former president's policies.
