Edmonton Oilers Punch Ticket to Stanley Cup Final

Oilers Edge Stars 2-1 in Game 6

Connor McDavid's goal gives Edmonton the series win

The Edmonton Oilers are headed to the Stanley Cup Final after defeating the Dallas Stars 2-1 in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday night. Connor McDavid scored the game-winning goal in the second period, and Mikko Koskinen made 34 saves to secure the victory.

The Oilers will now face the Eastern Conference champion Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final, which begins on Wednesday night in Denver. It will be the Oilers' first appearance in the Stanley Cup Final since 2006.

The Oilers' victory was a hard-fought one. The Stars took an early lead in the first period on a goal by Jason Robertson, but the Oilers tied the game in the second period on a goal by Zach Hyman. McDavid's goal in the second period gave the Oilers the lead for good.

The Oilers' penalty kill was a key factor in the victory. The Stars went 0-for-5 on the power play, and the Oilers were able to kill off a 5-on-3 power play in the third period.

Koskinen was outstanding in goal for the Oilers. He made several big saves in the third period to preserve the victory.

The Oilers' victory is a major accomplishment for the franchise. It is their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final since 2006, and they are now one step away from winning their first Stanley Cup since 1990.
