Australia have claimed their maiden ICC Mens T20 World Cup title after powering to an eight-wicket victory over New Zealand in the final in Dubai on Sunday.
Australia were in control of the match from the outset, with their bowlers restricting New Zealand to just 172 for 4 from their 20 overs.
In reply, Australia cruised to victory with 7 balls to spare, thanks to a superb innings from Mitch Marsh, who finished unbeaten on 77 from 50 balls.
The victory was a just reward for Australia, who have been one of the most consistent teams in international cricket in recent years.
They will now be hoping to add to their trophy haul when they host the next edition of the Mens T20 World Cup in 2022.
